I was taken back by seeing the obituary for Ricky...I guess I think we are going to live forever. Ricky was one of the people who stood out in my life as I was growing up. She was my Mom and Dad's friend, as was Jack, when we lived in Buena Park, Calif. She and Jack were part of our family as we transitioned into adulthood. I remember her adopting her first child, and remember their joy....Mom said she was so happy, she threw a pencil in the air and cheered. I remember the "lemon tree" she painted on the door in the livingroom. I thought that was amazing. I remember "fixing her hair" when she and Jack had a fun night out and she paid me. I also remember going to Wyzata or St. Paul to visit her parents and Hilary, her sister and what a wonderful time we had. Funny how people touch your life and the difference they make in it. It was all good. Here I am, 71 years old now, I've lost my Mom, my sister, and two husbands. I have 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren and 2 Great grands....and I still remember how important she was in my life. I was blessed to be a little part of her world...she was a wonderful lady and I'll never forget her.
I've added a picture of Dad, Stanley F. Meyer, and me at his 90th birthday party this last year.

Wow! What great memories. I’m proud to be that child mom and dad adopted. They were great parents. I’m struggling to believe they are really gone and we have to muddle through without them. Life is so very precious, and it simply flies by. It touches me to know how much I was wanted. Thanks for sharing these memories! PS- are you the people who had the pool? Mom always told me how much l loved being in the water as I was born during a “heat wave”. Thanks again! Jane Sanders
