May 26, 1920 to July 11, 2019
J.L. of Spring Park, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 11, 2019. Age 96.
J.L. was born in Montague, Texas and graduated from St. Jo High School where he met his
loving wife Joy Faye Wakeman. He went on to the South Pacific with the Navy for World War ll. Upon returning he attended TCU for college. He worked for General Dynamics working on B52s, and later went on to work at Lockheed Martin for many years before joining Harman Management with Kentucky Fried Chicken. J.L. was passionate about his faith, loved life, working with people, watching sports, loved his family, enjoyed spending time with grandkids, and great grandkids. He will be missed by his many friends, family members, and others he touched through out his life. We would like to thank everyone that touched him in such a positive and caring way. A special thanks to the care at Presbyterian Homes and the Hospice care team.
He is survived by his Special Friend, Naida Frankie; son, Philip (Wendy); daughter-in-law, Ellen; grandchildren, John, Mathew (Denise), Jeremy (Maggie), Jahanna (Tyler) Orchard, Tiffany, and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan, Conner, Kaiden, Karsen, Clayton, Kamren, Tallan, Amelia, Olivia, Rylie and Hadley, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joy; second wife, Lenetta; son, Frank; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
A funeral service will be held July 25, 2019 11:00 am
First Presbyterian Church, 558 County Rd. 110, Maple Plain, MN 55359, with a visitation 1 hour prior.
