Nordlie, Thomas V.
Age 54 of Orono, passed away July 15, 2019. Tom grew up on Lake Minnetonka and was an avid outdoors enthusiast. He enjoyed sailing, ice boating, fishing, duck hunting, running, skiing and golf. Tom greeted everyone with a smile and enjoyed good conversation. Tom also loved to travel and visited 5 continents, 34 countries and all 50 states. He was also a bit of “renaissance man” who could fix almost anything, played classical guitar and painted over 30 watercolors during the three years he lived in Switzerland with his wife Liz and two children. He graduated from Mound Westonka High School in 1983 and St. Olaf College in 1987. Tom worked as a Mesaba Airlines pilot for 10 years, then worked in a family real estate business. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, son Christopher and daughter Ella, sister Tracy Rascher (Andrew), parents Jim and JoAnn Nordlie, and many relatives and friends. Memorial service will be Monday, July 22, 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2451 Fairview Lane, Mound with visitation starting at 9am.
